What is a Pay Stub
This is simply a piece of paper describing break down details of your pay. The details of your tax Deductions, Withholdings, payments, etc. Most but not all States require employers to provide a Pay Stub. Think of it as a receipt of your pay, or a record for future for reference. There is no intrinsic value of the paystub, unless it's used as description of income.

Usually and employer will provide a pay stub to all employees. This is mandatory in most states, but not all. For self employed, a paystub can be generated for record keeping and tracking of funds. This helps in government tax and deductions planning. A Paystub can be digital or hard copy on paper.
